NOTE: The described procedure allows to activate the floating license for Metashape Professional 2.x and next versions.

The article describes the main steps of the activation procedure both for online and offline approaches:

Steps on the computer that is intended to be used as a license server

1. Download Agisoft FLS (Agisoft Floating License Server) archive using the link corresponding to the OS used on the computer that is intended to be used as a license server:

Windows 64 bit: https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/download.agisoft.com/agisoft-license-server_1_0_4_x64.zip

Windows 32 bit: https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/download.agisoft.com/agisoft-license-server_1_0_4_x86.zip

Linux 64bit: https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/download.agisoft.com/agisoft-license-server_1_0_4_amd64.tar.gz

macOS: https://s3-eu-west-1.amazonaws.com/download.agisoft.com/agisoft-license-server_1_0_4_mac.tar.gz

2. Run Agisoft FLS utility from the unpacked archive on the computer that is intended to be used as a license server.

If the license server should be reached by the clients via specific IP address, use --host argument, when starting the license server from the command line:

agisoft-fls --host <server-ip>:<port>

On Windows find the IP of your machine you may use the following procedure:

  1. Open the Start menu and type cmd.exe to open the Command Prompt
  2. In the Command Prompt type ipconfig /all and press Enter
  3. The tool will return a set of data that includes your IP address in IPv4 section.
  4. Copy the address to the suggested address in your browser: http://server-ip:5842
Please note, that you need to specify YOUR parameters for <server-ip>:<port>.

In our example we have used the following command:

agisoft-fls --host 192.168.10.200:5842

Where the value 192.168.10.200 is IP address of our server:

<server-ip> - 192.168.10.200

and 5842 is our preferable port:

<port> - 5842

(port number is optional, if not defined when starting the license server, 5842 will be used by default):

3. Open web-interface on the Agisoft License Server web-interface in the Internet browser http://server-ip:5842 (for example:  http://192.168.10.200:5842).

When you open the server web interface page for the first time, you need to create login and password for your administrator-user account.

Click Login button.

4. Click Licenses button:

5. After that on the Licenses page ( http://192.168.10.200:5842/licenses.html) click Activate button:

Activate floating license online

Input your activation key and license count. In the example below, we used the values:

Activation key: XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX-XXXXX
License count:
 10

Please note, that you need to input your Activation key and corresponding license count, please DO NOT use values from the example.

If you have an FLS activation key (in XXXX-XXXX-XXXX-XXXX format), it is not required for Agisoft License Server, just ignore it and use only Floating license key for activation.

After that click Activate button:

After the activation on the Licenses page there will be a list of activated licenses: one line for each activation - Product name and Count number:

Activate floating license offline

For offline activation you need to use another computer with Internet access.

1. Open https://activate.agisoft.com/activate-offline page from a computer with Internet access, input the floating license activation key and press Save Activation Parameters button to save activation parameters file (*.actparam):

Transfer the parameters file to the computer that is intended to be used as a license server and proceed to step 2.

2. Open the Agisoft License Server web-interface in the Internet browser http://server-ip:5842 (for example: http://192.168.10.200:5842). Click Activate button on the Licenses page and select the activation parameters file (*.actparam) obtained on step 1 in the corresponding field:

Then enter the license count - the number of licenses to be activated (or leave the count field empty to activate all available licenses for the used floating license activation key). Then press Save Activation Request button to save the activation request file (*.actreq):

Please note, that you need to specify YOUR parameters, instead of values in the example that are marked in red. Input the count number for the floating license to be activated.

Transfer the request file *.actreq (in our example we got the activation_request.actreq file) to a computer with Internet access, open https://activate.agisoft.com/activate-offline, select this request file in the corresponding section and click on Save Activation Response button to save the response file (*.actresp):

Transfer the response file (we got activation.actresp file) back to the license server computer and proceed to step 3.

3. Open the Agisoft License Server web-interface in the Internet browser http://server-ip:5842. Click Activate button on the Licenses page and select the response file (in our example activation.actresp file) obtained on step 2 in the corresponding field and press Install License button to complete the floating license activation procedure:

After the activation on the Licenses page there will be a list of activated licenses: one line for each activation - Product name and Count number:

If it is necessary to set up the license server as a background system service, please check the related article for additional instructions:

Note that it is strongly recommended to activate the floating license after the service has been already set up. If the floating license had been activated before, then deactivate it, configure the service, start it and then perform the activation, as it is described in the actual article.

In case the automatic broadcast of the floating licenses doesn't work for any reason, please use AGISOFT_FLS environment variable or a properly configured .lic file on the client's side, as described in the following article:
